[Scholarships] – Jardine Scholarship Awards 2019

Established in 1982 to mark the 150th Anniversary of the Jardine Matheson Group, the Jardine Foundation awards Jardine Scholarships annually to students to enable them to attend educational establishments, primarily at selected Colleges at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge in the United Kingdom.

For first degree courses, the scholarships are for periods of three or four years, or such longer period as the Trustees upon the recommendation of the Scholarship Committee may decide. Jardine Scholarships are tenable for courses at Oxbridge, with very strong preference being given to undergraduate courses at the following preferred Colleges:

  • Cambridge: Downing, Magdalene, Peterhouse and Trinity
  • Oxford: Exeter, Oriel, The Queen’s and Trinity

In addition to the scholarships for undergraduate studies, the Foundation also considers a limited number of applications for scholarships for postgraduate studies. Potential candidates will be recommended through the preferred Colleges at Oxford and Cambridge Universities among those individuals who have been accepted by the Universities. For further details of the Postgraduate Scholarships, please contact the Secretaries of the Jardine Foundation via email at jardine.foundation@jardines.com.

The selection of candidates is based on a number of criteria, which include academic achievement, leadership qualities, and involvement in non-curricular activities and community affairs.

Each scholarship awarded will generally be sufficient to cover fees, tuition, the cost of necessary books and equipment, board and lodging (preferably on a living-in basis where this is available at the University), and reasonable living expenses and travel expenses to and from the University at the beginning and at the end of the course in respect of which the scholarship is awarded.

Application for Jardine Scholarship Award 2019 is now open. For eligibility and other details of the Scholarships, please refer to the website at: https://www.jardines.com/en/community/foundation.html
