Artikel ini sudah sangat lama tersimpan sebagai “Draft”, hampir 2 tahun sudah setelah awal kali pelaksanaannya, hingga baru pada bulan Agustus 2018 ini dapat terbit. Sesuai judul, program yang saya ikuti ini bernama PKBI (Peningkatan Kemampuan Bahasa Inggris), dilaksanakan pada bulan September – Desember 2016. Program ini diselenggarakan dalam rangka meningkatkan kualifikasi sumber daya manusia khususnya peningkatan kemampuan berbahasa asing bagi dosen tetap di lingkungan Kementerian Riset, Teknologi, dan Pendidikan Tinggi (Kemenristekdikti) yang berminat studi lanjut ke luar negeri. Ditjen Sumber Daya Iptek dan Dikti setiap tahunnya menyelenggarakan program PKBI (Peningkatan Kemampuan Bahasa Inggris) yang merupakan kelanjutan dari program Talent Scouting.
Setiap UPT bahasa yang menjadi tuan rumah untuk program PKBI DIKTI ini memiliki caranya sendiri-sendiri dalam mengelola program ini. Di UPT Pusat Bahasa ITB misalnya, tempat yang digunakan unutk program PKBI 2016, setiap hari (Senin – Kamis) kami selalu diberikan materi reading, writing, speaking, dan listening, dan di hari Jumat, kami mendapatkan latihan tes IELTS, untuk memantau perkembangan score IELTS kami.
Program yang dilaksanakan secara intens namun dalam suasana santai ini memberikan manfaat nyata dalam perkembangan kemampuan berbahasa Inggris (sebagian besar dari) kami. Sebagai gambaran, saya yang ketika sebelum mengikuti program ini memiliki nilai IELTS di sekitar angka 4, di akhir program saya mendapatkan sertifikat IELTS dengan nilai overall 6,5.
Adapun syarat-syarat untuk mengikuti program PKBI yang pada tahun 2018 ini menurut saya pribadi “cukup mudah” jika dirujukkan untuk seorang dosen “muda” (lihat syarat no. 2). Persyaratannya antara lain:
1. Berbadan sehat dan bebas narkotika psikotropika dan zat aditif lainnya (napza), dibuktikan dengan surat keterangan dokter;
2. Usia maksimal 45 tahun;
3. Jenjang pendidikan minimal S2 yang dibuktikan dengan salinan ijazah dan transkrip nilai;
4. Memiliki NIDN yang terdaftar dan aktif di http://forlap.ristekdikti.go.id ;
5. Menguasai Bahasa Inggris dasar yang dibuktikan dengan melampirkan salinan sertifikat bukti kemampuan berbahasa Inggris (TOEFL institusional (ITP) minimal 500, atau iBT minimal 65, atau IELTS minimal 5,5);
6. Mendapatkan izin dari pimpinan perguruan tinggi yang bersangkutan untuk mengikuti pelatihan bahasa Inggris selama 3 (tiga) bulan secara penuh waktu (full time);
7. Tidak berstatus sedang studi (izin belajar atau tugas belajar);
8. Belum pernah mengikuti program Peningkatan Kemampuan Bahasa Inggris sebelumnya yang diselenggarakan oleh Ditjen Sumber Daya Iptek dan Dikti.

Hello everyone, let me introduce you to my new home for the last five weeks back to November 2017. The new environment that drives my perspective to the next level about the Ph.D. Meet many brilliant and attractive people that have one vision in their minds; move forward. Such a privilege to have the marvelous discussion, explore the country, get a new family, and experienced the kindness of the Taiwanese.
This program held by DIKTI for Indonesian lecturers whose willing to get their Ph.D. abroad. The programs called “Bridging Programme 2017”. This time, we are lucky enough to experienced Taiwan, particularly Asia University, that located in Taichung City. The weather, people, and all the things that happen there, just perfect. A combination of old culture and modern technology that emphasize how civilized they are.
On the next article on my blog, I will give you several updates about our activities there. So, hope you enjoy the journey, cheers…

This is a unique program organized by Kanazawa University (KU) and Indonesian Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (RISTEKDIKTI). Please see below for more information about the program.
The program is for the lecturers of Indonesian universities and researchers in institutes in the Republic of Indonesia who presently hold a Master’s degree and would like to pursue a doctoral degree at KU. The program runs for 36 or 48 months, depending on the field of study, and it is entirely sponsored by BUDI-LN scholarship (Beasiswa Unggulan Dosen Indonesia Luar Negeri). Applicants will be selected and matched with academic supervisor by the graduate schools at KU, then undergo separate interviews by RISTEKDIKTI and the academic supervisor. Upon successfully completing all processes, applicants will be admitted to KU as graduate students in the doctoral course.

Abstrak – Fusion Splicer merupakan perangkat yang digunakan dalam mata kuliah praktikum serat optik. Alat tersebut merupakan alat praktikum yang cukup mahal. Institut Teknologi Telkom Purwokerto saat ini hanya memiliki satu buah Fusion Splicer yang digunakan untuk praktikum beberapa kelas sehingga akses mahasiswa untuk mempelajari alat tersebut terbatas. Mahasiswa hanya dapat mempelajari alat tersebut di laboratorium pada saat pelaksanaan praktikum. Ketersediaan media belajar tentang penggunaan Fusion Splicer, yang dapat digunakan oleh mahasiswa di luar laboratorium, diharapkan dapat menjadi sumber belajar pendukung bagi mahasiswa. Augmented Reality (AR) telah dikenal memiliki beberapa manfaat dalam implementasi sebagai media belajar yang mendukung kegiatan pembelajaran. Penelitian ini akan mengembangkan media belajar praktikum Fusion Splicer berbasis AR untuk mendukung kegiatan pembelajaran mata kuliah praktikum serat optik. Model pengembangan yang dipergunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah sistem air terjun (waterfall). Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah media belajar berbasis AR yang diakses melalui smartphone, dengan penggunaan virtual button sebagai sarana interaktif bagi pengguna. Perangkat praktikum direpresentasikan dalam bentuk model 3 dimensi, sedangkan petunjuk praktikum disajikan dalam bentuk embedded video.
