Established in 1982 to mark the 150th Anniversary of the Jardine Matheson Group, the Jardine Foundation awards Jardine Scholarships annually to students to enable them to attend educational establishments, primarily at selected Colleges at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge in the United Kingdom.

For first degree courses, the scholarships are for periods of three or four years, or such longer period as the Trustees upon the recommendation of the Scholarship Committee may decide. Jardine Scholarships are tenable for courses at Oxbridge, with very strong preference being given to undergraduate courses at the following preferred Colleges:

  • Cambridge: Downing, Magdalene, Peterhouse and Trinity
  • Oxford: Exeter, Oriel, The Queen’s and Trinity

In addition to the scholarships for undergraduate studies, the Foundation also considers a limited number of applications for scholarships for postgraduate studies. Potential candidates will be recommended through the preferred Colleges at Oxford and Cambridge Universities among those individuals who have been accepted by the Universities. For further details of the Postgraduate Scholarships, please contact the Secretaries of the Jardine Foundation via email at jardine.foundation@jardines.com.

The selection of candidates is based on a number of criteria, which include academic achievement, leadership qualities, and involvement in non-curricular activities and community affairs.

Each scholarship awarded will generally be sufficient to cover fees, tuition, the cost of necessary books and equipment, board and lodging (preferably on a living-in basis where this is available at the University), and reasonable living expenses and travel expenses to and from the University at the beginning and at the end of the course in respect of which the scholarship is awarded.

[My Escape] – PPKBI (Program Peningkatan Kemampuan Bahasa Inggris) 2016 – The Journey to the Perfect 9

1. Berbadan sehat dan bebas narkotika psikotropika dan zat aditif lainnya (napza), dibuktikan dengan surat keterangan dokter;
2. Usia maksimal 45 tahun;
3. Jenjang pendidikan minimal S2 yang dibuktikan dengan salinan ijazah dan transkrip nilai;
4. Memiliki NIDN yang terdaftar dan aktif di http://forlap.ristekdikti.go.id ;
5. Menguasai Bahasa Inggris dasar yang dibuktikan dengan melampirkan salinan sertifikat bukti kemampuan berbahasa Inggris (TOEFL institusional (ITP) minimal 500, atau iBT minimal 65, atau IELTS minimal 5,5);
6. Mendapatkan izin dari pimpinan perguruan tinggi yang bersangkutan untuk mengikuti pelatihan bahasa Inggris selama 3 (tiga) bulan secara penuh waktu (full time);
7. Tidak berstatus sedang studi (izin belajar atau tugas belajar);
8. Belum pernah mengikuti program Peningkatan Kemampuan Bahasa Inggris sebelumnya yang diselenggarakan oleh Ditjen Sumber Daya Iptek dan Dikti.

The Ground Zero

[My Escape] – Greetings from Asia University (2)

In the previous article in my post about “Greetings from Asia University (1)“, I have told you what is the DIKTI Bridging Programme 2017 all about. As I mentioned earlier, Asia University is one of private university in Taiwan, located in Taichung City. Founded in 2001, it offers an education for degrees in health and medical science, computer science and electrical engineering, creative design, management, and humanities and social sciences.

In less than 15 years, Asia University has been recognized as an outstanding university in school running; for three consecutive years, the university was selected by peer university presidents to be in the top 10 best school-running universities in Taiwan (2016 ~ 2018). Furthermore, the university was evaluated by the THE (Times Higher Education) to be in the top 100 in seven distinct world rankings in recent years, in addition to several other good world rankings by other institutions.

Our first day in Asia university

Our early days in Asia University full with an introduction event with some professor and academic staff, coupled with international forum that held by Asia University. A “2017 Asia University Higher Education Forum for Rectors and Presidents” forum presents a main topics about industrial revolution 4.0. In this event, I can experience how the campus manage such a big gathering among the universities presidents. The enthusiasm and energy was there. I remember on the afternoon break, I go back to my apartment to have my own lunch, and still have a plenty of energy to be back again in campus. This same thing goes on for two days. Every detail of moments from that event still in my head, till today, a year later. Thanks for the experience you offer to us, appreciate it.
